Edinburgh Skyline – Scotland

Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.

About the shot: Walking along the Regent Rd, from the busy Princes Street few minutes walking up te hill towards Calton Hill is possible to meet an overwhelming point of view facing the old town of Edinburgh. The skyline is very uncommon and way different from the classic city postcard. What is interesting is the clear diversion between the two parts of the city, te old meets the new, in the background the old town and the foreground as the new part of the town.
