Torre Normanna – Maiori

Maiori is a town and comune on the Amalfi coast in the province of Salerno (Campania, Italy). It has been a popular tourist resort since Roman times, with the longest unbroken stretch of beach on the Amalfi coastline. (Wikipedia Source)

About the shot: Framing the Amalfi Coast is awesome. Everywhere you drive around there are heaps of fantastic places for a good shot. Although, taking a picture can be quiet hard and stressful. It’s almost impossible being flexible along the road if you’re driving a car, it’s awfully hard to find a parking lot without paying something like 3 Euro / hour. Definitely a good way to travel and framing the coast would be with a scooter or hitch-hiking. Forget the car.
This photograph was taken along side the main road, right before entering the town of Maiori. The tower is actually a 5 stars restaurant, most of the time busy, consequently not good for a picture. Anyway, standing on the small and narrow walkaway is not too bad for a picture. You’re probably standing half on the sideway half on the road, but, as long as you don’t mind too much about the sound of the horns, there’s no hassle to stay there.
